Janet Paul Rice, associate director of Dining Services at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., was elected president-elect of the National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS) at its annual conference in Milwaukee. Paul Rice will be sworn in as president at the 2010 national conference in San Jose, Calif..

Paul Rice has been a member of the Dining Services team at Concordia since 1993 and has been actively involved in NACUFS since that time. She has held numerous volunteer positions with the organization including chair of the national education committee, regional president and national at-large director.

As president-elect Paul Rice will assist the current president, sit on the national board of directors and serve on the finance committee. She will then serve as president for one year and past-president for one year.

“It is a great honor and opportunity to be elected president-elect of NACUFS. I look forward to leading the organization and making strides that will benefit the food industry, NACUFS and Concordia. We have a fantastic dining program at Concordia and it will be great to be able to bring national attention to the college,” said Paul Rice.

As president of NACUFS Paul Rice will lead the organization by organizing activities and goals, approving budget changes, appointing national committee members and more.

The NACUFS is the trade association for food service professionals at more than 625 institutions of higher education in the United States, Canada, Mexico and abroad. NACUFS provides members with a full-range of educational programs, publications, management services and networking opportunities. In addition to colleges and universities, more than 500 industry suppliers are members of the association.
