CONCORDIA ANNOUNCES FACULTY
PROMOTIONS AND TENURE

    The Concordia College Board of Regents recently approved 13 faculty members for promotion and/or tenure. Their accomplishments are a testimony to Concordia’s commitment to academic excellence and to a quality faculty committed to teaching, scholarship and service.
    Dr. David P. Eyler, Dr. Jay Hershberger, Dr. Joan Kopperud, Dr. Rebecca Moore and Dr. Barbara Witteman have all been promoted to professor.
    Eyler, music, earned his D.M.A from Louisiana State University; Hershberger, music, earned his D.M.A. from Arizona State University; Kopperud, English, earned her Ph.D. from the University of North Dakota; Moore, political science, earned her Ph.D. from the University of Virginia and Witteman, education, earned her Ph.D. from Miami University.
    Dr. Nathaniel Dickey, Dr. Ahmed Kamel, Dr. Matthew Lindholm, Dr. Kristi Loberg, Dr. Steven Makela and Dr. Connie Peterson have all been granted tenure.
    Dickey, music, earned his D.M.A. from the University of Minnesota; Kamel, mathematics and computer science, earned his Ph.D. from Michigan State University; Lindholm, sociology and social work, earned his Ph.D. from City University of New York; Loberg, sociology and social work, earned her Ph.D. from North Dakota State University; Makela, music, earned his D.M.A from the University of North Texas and Peterson, nursing, earned her Ph.D. from TUI University.
    Dr. John Flaspohler has been promoted to associate professor and Dr. Sonja Wentling has been promoted to associate professor and granted tenure.
    Flaspohler, biology, earned his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Wentling, history, earned her Ph.D. from Kent State University.
