Halverson Named Student Nurse of the Year

Amanda Halverson was named the 2008-09 Concordia College Student Nurse of the Year, and is also the winner of the 2008-09 Army Nurse Corp Spirit of Nursing Award. Halverson is the daughter of Karen Halverson, Roseau, Minn. Halverson, an accelerated nursing student at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., will graduate in December 2009 with her RN degree. She was selected by the nursing faculty and her colleagues for her leadership abilities, personal accountability, commitment to nursing, professional growth, discretionary judgment, knowledge, involvement in the Student Nurses' Association and her ability to serve as a role model for future students in the 2009 Expanding Your Horizons Science and Math event at Concordia College.
Concordia College is a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America offering 78 majors, including 18 honors majors, and 12 preprofessional programs.
