CONCORDIA PRESENTS CHOIRS AND BELLS CONCERT

The music department at Concordia College will present a combined Three Choirs and Handbell choirs concert at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 26 in Memorial Auditorium on the Moorhead, Minn., campus. The concert is free and open to the public.
Cantabile, a choir of first-year female students, and Männerchor, a choir of first-year male students, are both conducted by Michael Smith. Smith has a background of 40 years in conducting choral music at Aitkin, Brainerd and Willmar high schools and Brainerd Community College.
Bel Canto, a choral ensemble of approximately 65 upperclass women, is conducted by Charlette Moe. Moe is also a part of the music faculty at Minnesota State University Moorhead and North Dakota State University.
The Handbell choirs, Tintinnabula and Campana, are conducted by Jessica Westgard, a Concordia graduate who performed with Tintinnabula from 1995 to 1998, the choir’s founding years. She has been the director of handbells at St. John Lutheran Church in Fargo since 1999 and Nativity Catholic Church since 2006.
