CONCORDIA PRESENTS TRIBUTE TO EXPLORATION
The Cultural Events Series at Concordia College will present “First Person: Stories from the Edge of the World” at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 30 in the Knutson Center Centrum on the Moorhead, Minn., campus. Experience a multimedia tribute to the spirit of exploration featuring evocative music and readings written by and about great explorers.
The performance is a remarkable collaboration involving Ensemble Galilei, National Public Radio’s Neal Conan, actress Lily Knight and National Geographic. Conan and Knight narrate excerpts from the journals of great explorers such as Jacques Cousteau, George Mallory and Charles Darwin, along with works by writers such as Jim Harrison. The readings and musical selections will be illustrated with artwork and images from the National Geographic Image Collection in a memorable celebration of human exploration.
For more information or tickets, contact the Office of Cultural Events. Concordia College is a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America offering 78 majors, including 18 honors majors, and 12 preprofessional programs.
