CONCORDIA HEALTH FAIR “BUILDING HEALTHY COBBERS”
Concordia College’s Campus Entertainment Commission (CEC) is sponsoring the 2008-09 Health Fair “Building Healthy Cobbers” from noon-4 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 28 in the Knutson Campus Center Centrum. This year’s health fair will promote healthy lifestyles in six areas of wellness including physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental, and occupational health for all students, faculty and staff. There will be 40 community and campus organizations, agencies and businesses displaying a booth.
Education will be provided on reducing stress, living lean and green, blood donations, mental health and much more. A variety of free health services will be available including free chiropractic screenings, MicroFIT program to view personal fitness/wellness profile, volunteer opportunities at specific organizations and wellness demonstrations. In addition, many booths will also have information, samples and handouts.
Additional attractions include an airbag deployment demo from the Moorhead State Highway Patrol, dogs from the F-M Obedience School and 10 minute chair massages provided by the students of Sister Rosalind Gefre School of Clinics and Massage. The first 500 people in attendance will receive a free Corn Cob Stress Ball.
Concordia CEC looks forward to having the Health Fair as a way to get students aware of healthy living not just by eating and staying active, but also by the emotional, spiritual, and environmental aspects.
