Jazz Ensembles

It’s not hard to find some great  jazz at Concordia. With two full jazz ensembles and a vocal jazz ensemble, there’s always a great concert right around the corner – including several formal concerts each year and short tours, school concerts and other performances. The Concordia College Jazz Ensemble I is directed by Russ Peterson, while The Concordia College Jazz Ensemble II is directed by Dr. Peter Knudsvig. The Vocal Jazz Ensemble is directed by Kathie Brekke.

Concordia Jazz bands often feature world renown guest artists, such as Phil Woods, Dave Weckle, Peter Erskin, Greg Field, Terri Lyne Carrington, ZORO, Ignacio Berroa, and Gregg Bissonette. Great local jazz artists also frequently make appearances.
