Echo Concert Band

Making its original appearance at Concordia College in the fall of 1899, the Echo Concert Band was Concordia's first campus concert band. Returning to Concordia in the fall of 2009, the Echo Concert Band is a non-auditioned based concert band that brings together interested students from across the campus. Rehearsals take place weekly on Sunday evenings, and culminate each semester with a concert that is free and open to the public.

The first meeting of the spring semester (no instruments needed) will take place on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, in the band rehearsal room (Hvidsten Hall of Music, room 137).

The Echo Concert Band is led by Concordia Director of Bands Dr. Peter J. Haberman and a team of student directors. The student directors are selected through an annual application and interview process that occurs each spring semester for the following academic year. Typically, the student directors are music education majors in their final two semesters of education at Concordia. The Echo Concert Band student directors for 2012-13 will be Rachel Miller '13, Tony Sanders '13, Luke Sollie '13, and Nathan Waller '13.
