BiographyKaren Hamilton

Karen Hamilton has been on the Voice Faculty at Concordia College since 1995. She received her Bachelor of Arts in music from Colby College, Waterville, Maine, and a Master's in vocal performance from the University of Iowa in 1980. During the summer, Ms. Hamilton is head of the Vocal Department at Trollwood Performing Arts School. She has served as a vocal clinician and contest judge at both high school and college levels. Ms. Hamilton has a wide range of experience in performing both musical theatre and opera, including leading roles in West Side Story, Cabaret, A Little Night Music, The Magic Flute, Martha, The Marriage of Figaro and Cosi Fan Tutte. She has also served as the music director for productions of Beauty and the Beast, Fiddler on the Roof, Bat Boy, Seussical, Side Show and Once On This Island. Ms. Hamilton most recently has performed in productions of A Little Night Music at FMCT and The Marriage of Figaro and La Traviata with the FM Opera. Her students have won awards nationally and many have continued on to graduate studies.
