BiographyPeter Halverson
Peter Halverson is a graduate of Concordia College and the University of Wisconsin. Following graduate school, he was an apprentice artist with the Santa Fe Opera, Minnesota Opera and the San Francisco Opera Merola program. A former national finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Auditions, Mr. Halverson has successfully performed in opera, operetta, musical theater, oratorio, concert and recital.
He has toured with Western Opera Theater and Minnesota Opera and sings frequently with symphonies and opera companies throughout The United States and particularly in mid-America. He sings regularly in Minneapolis/St. Paul with the Minnesota Opera, Minnesota Orchestra, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and North Star Opera. His most recent performances have included Pélleas in Pélleas et Melisande, Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Ping in Turandot with the Minnesota Opera, Mahler's Eighth Symphony and Handel's Messiah with the Minnesota Orchestra, and the romantic leads in The New Moon, The Desert Song, The Vagabond King and Bittersweet with North Star Opera.
This summer, he will sing Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro with Berkshire Opera and in the fall sings Elijah with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony, Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem with the New Mexico Symphony, another Count Almaviva with the San Antonio Symphony and Melchior in Amahl and the Night Visitors with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. Mr. Halverson is a member of the voice faculty of Concordia College.
