Nicki Bakko Toliver - Conductor Bel Cnto Choir

 
Nicki Bakko Toliver is an accomplished choral conductor and educator holding positions in Minnesota, Arizona, Nevada and most recently, North Dakota.

Mrs. Toliver has developed high quality choral programs earning Superior and Gold ratings from regional and national competitions. Her students have performed in District, State and National Honor Choirs. Mrs. Toliver has also served as the Music Director for stage productions such as Footloose, Godspell, The Wizard of Oz, Grease and Annie.

In addition to the classroom, Mrs. Toliver is an active church musician, adjudicator, clinician, applied voice instructor and performs often with her baritone husband Travis. She has served as the All-State Choir Chairperson for the Nevada Music Educators Association and is a staff member at the René Clausen Choral School. Mrs. Toliver is a proud member of the American Choral Directors Association, Minnesota Music Educators Association, Chorus America and the International Association of Jazz Educators.

Mrs. Toliver is currently completing her Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from North Dakota State University. She teaches Music Appreciation and Applied Voice and assists with undergraduate conducting courses.

Mrs. Toliver holds a Master of Music degree in Choral Music Education and Conducting from Arizona State University in Tempe and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Music Education from Concordia College, Moorhead, where she was a proud member of The Concordia Choir. Her mentors include René Clausen, Doreen Rao, Jo Ann Miller, Michael Weber and David Stocker.
