Dr. Renè Clausen
Artistic Director, Concordia Christmas Concert
World-renowned composer and conductor
Dr. Renè Clausen is celebrating his 21st year at Concordia College, as artistic director of the award-winning Concordia Christmas Concerts and conductor of The Concordia Choir. Clausen has written more than 50 commissioned compositions and is a frequent guest conductor, composer and lecturer.
Eddy Barrows
Visual Artist
Eddy Barrows is a nationally recognized artist, designer and playwright. Among his varied achievements, he is a recipient of four Meritorious Achievement awards from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for his theatrical design work for Concordia Theatre, two prestigious Hawaii State Theatre Council Po’okela awards and the Edward P. Pritchard Memorial Award from Ohio University.
Eddy has work for Concordia since 1987 and is an adjunct faculty member for the theatre program in the communication studies and theatre arts department.
In the fall of 2002, Concordia College honored Eddy with a retrospective of his paintings, sculptures and theatre work in the Cyrus M. Running Gallery, featuring 172 pieces of his work, spanning over twenty years.
Bryan Duncan
Director, Campus Lighting
During his 16 years as director of campus lighting, Bryan Duncan has designed the staging and lighting for more than 400 events. Most recently he produced the multimedia display for the 2006 Christmas Concert that memorialized the work of muralist David Hetland. Duncan has received the Meritorious Achievement Award several times from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and his groundbreaking lighting designs for a 2003 Concordia theatre production was the subject of feature stories in three national publications.
