Dr. James Specht
Dr. James Specht joined the faculty at Concordia in 2000 and retired as associate professor of accounting in the Offutt School of Business.
Specht earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in business economics from North Dakota State University, Fargo, and a Master of Taxation degree and a doctorate in business administration from Georgia State University, Atlanta.
He is a retired colonel in the U.S. Army and served in the U.S. Army Finance Corps from 1970 until 1998. In 1993 he opened an accounting practice, CPA Sole Proprietorship, in Fargo.
Specht was a classroom instructor while serving as an advisor to the Imperial Iranian Air Force in 1977, taught accounting at Georgia State University from 1983 to 1984 and taught at NDSU from 1984 until 1993. He was an adjunct instructor in accounting at Concordia for a year before joining the faculty full time.
