Honors


1951
Lloyd Ketterling, Rochester, Minn., was honored by the Choral Arts Ensemble of Rochester, which opened its Christmas program with a song specially composed by René Clausen to celebrate Ketterling’s contributions as a choir director (now retired) for Rochester Public Schools; the song kicked off the Lloyd Ketterling Christmas Carol Alumni Project to raise funds to commission 10 carols in 10 years to honor him.

1964
Coralie (Christianson) Bryant, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, was honored with the J.M. Brown Award for outstanding contribution to teacher education in Manitoba by the Faculty of Education Alumni Association, U of Manitoba.

1970
Curtis Johnson, Wheaton, Minn., received the Minnesota Corrections Professional Lifetime Achievement Award from the Minnesota Corrections Association for his 41 years as a probation officer in Minnesota.

1976
Paul Oppegard, Fargo, N.D., competed for the 2011 Team USA Veterans in the World FITASC Championship in France; he received a silver team medal and a bronze individual medal.

1979
Karen (Baumhoefner) Dumais, Elk Grove Village, Ill., was named a 2011 Five Star Real Estate Agent by Five Star Professional and Chicago magazine, an honor given to agents in the Chicago area who provide exceptional service and overall satisfaction.

1982
Keith Fuglie, Falls Church, Va., received the 2009-10 Helios Award for Research from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service, an honor given every two years to the department’s top research in economics; he serves as branch chief for Resource, Environmental and Science Policy in USDA’s Economic Service, Washington, D.C.

1992
Jennifer (Wildman) Strickland, Motley, Minn., was honored with the 2011 Minnesota Rural Health Nurse of the Year Award by the March of Dimes.
