E. Paul Lian, Scottsdale, Ariz., retired from a 33-year career in the life and pension insurance business.

1970
Yvonne (Albrecht) Kroll, Dickinson, N.D., is foundation director for St. Luke’s Home and Park Avenue Villa. Barbara (Senkbeil) Swaby, Great Falls, Mont., directed a performance of Handel’s “Messiah” with the chancel choirs of First Congregational United Church of Christ and Christ United Methodist churches in December; she retired from her position as choir director for the Great Falls Public School District in June.

Owen Jones, Lakewood, Colo., worked for 13 months at the South Pole in Antarctica supporting research by the National Science Foundation. Pat Morreim, Anoka, Minn., retired from the U of Minnesota Extension as regional director for Andover. Thomas Sletto, Des Moines, Iowa, was promoted to assistant professor of music education at Drake U. Toni (Wayne) Smith, Wabasha, Minn., retired from the U of Minnesota Extension as field outreach operations director and liaison to the Association of Minnesota Counties.

Nancy (Frosaker) Johnson, West Fargo, N.D., retired from the U of Minnesota Extension as regional director for Moorhead and Fergus Falls, Minn.

Leslie Bergland, Brooklyn Park, Minn., was appointed to the Ex-Im Bank 2012 Advisory Committee for Export-Import Bank of the United States, Washington, D.C.; she is a principal for Trade Acceptance Group, Ltd., Edina.

Amy Current, Dubuque, Iowa, serves as the dean for vocation at Wartburg Theological Seminary. Steven Erickson, Palm Springs, Calif., is a managing partner for the CPA firm Maryanov Madsen Gordon & Campbell. Eric Peterson, Appleton, Wis., finished a 15-month deployment to Afghanistan as a commander in the U.S. Navy, serving as department head of trauma at the NATO Role 3 military hospital in Kandahar; he also developed and participated in the en route critical care program. Kerri (Wall) Westgard, Fargo, N.D., was granted a doctorate in education from the U of North Dakota.
