Carol Eid Fliss

Carol Eid Fliss ’72 retired last June after 30 years at Concordia. Fliss joined the college in 1981 as administrative assistant in the Office of Alumni Relations. Throughout the years, she had eight different job titles and, ultimately, retired as director of donor relations in the Advancement Office.

During her time at the college, Fliss witnessed many changes in personnel, equipment, technology and her own job descriptions. She was here for five different presidential changes and four major public campaigns. Few could rival her institutional history and knowledge of donors.

She was also a gracious hostess for many college events and was responsible for getting the very successful Offutt School of Business gala off the ground.

“One of my first impressions of Carol was how devoted she is to Concordia,” says Teresa Harland, vice president for Advancement. “I valued her partnership and conscientious attention to detail.”

Fliss is spending time at the lake, time with her grandchildren and traveling. She is also assisting her husband, Doug Fliss '01, owner of Departure Designs, with his calligraphy, liturgical art and graphic design business.
