For nearly 50 years, Concordia has believed that spending time in another culture is a valuable and necessary part of a student’s education. It’s why the college developed short-term study abroad programs to appeal to a large number of students rather than a select few. Dr. Heidi Manning, professor of physics, is a member of the scientific team that analyzed data and recreated experiments conducted by Curiosity, the rover that landed on Mars in August.
The Art of Composition

Some may call them savants. Others might dismiss them as “artistic types” with reclusive habits of spending long hours locked in a studio. But for some Concordia professors and alumni, the drive to compose music far outweighs the sacrifices they have made to get where they are today.

Stitched With Love
Members of the student group Itch to Stitch knitted hats for babies and toddlers in Tanzania. Other students delivered the hats while traveling on a study abroad trip to the country in May.
