Update the Jake Campaign

Plans for the project to Update Jake Christiansen Stadium continue to move forward. We are pleased that major gifts to the project have enabled us to complete the first two phases of our plan.
Phase I – completed in August of 2010. Phase I included the installation of FieldTurf on the football field and the baseball infield. The area under the south stadium was resurfaced and has greatly enhanced our game day atmosphere. Two parking lots were paved - one parking lot with an 8th Street entrance and the second lot with a new 11th Street entrance.
Phase II – completed in November of 2011. Phase II included seeding the plaza area between the football and baseball fields, the construction of a new storage facility and the demolition of the “green shed” to prepare the site for the new multi-sport locker room. Stadium hand railings were also installed in the bleachers on both the north and south sides.
Phase III will begin once the fund raising campaign is completed. The feature project of Phase III is a multi-sport locker room facility. The plan for the football locker room includes 140 lockers, a coaches locker room, an athletic training room, an equipment room, a recruiting lounge, a Hall of Legends that will proudly display our athletic success, and a women’s soccer locker room with 40 lockers.
