Theologians Featured in ELCA Magazine

Two theologians with ties to Concordia were featured in an article profiling new thinkers in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The article ran in the February 2013 issue of The Lutheran magazine.

Featured were Dr. Jacqueline Bussie, director of Concordia’s Forum on Faith and Life and associate professor of religion, and The Rev. Dr. Shauna K. Hannan ‘92, assistant professor of homiletics, Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Columbia, S.C.

In the article, Bussie discusses how as a Lutheran theologian she can ask hard questions, which opens the door to conversations about subjects such as evil and how to balance that with a response of hope and interfaith cooperation.

Hannan shares how she teaches seminarians to preach collaboratively and encourages laypeople to understand preaching as a ministry of the whole congregation.
