Part Time PSEO and Oak Grove/Park Christian Dual Enrollment

Available for Minnesota high school juniors and seniors who live within a reasonable commuting distance (or North Dakota residents who attend Oak Grove or Park Christian Schools)

What is the Postsecondary Enrollment Options Program?
The Postsecondary Enrollment Options Program (PSEO) enables 11th- and 12th-grade students to enroll in courses at eligible postsecondary institutions in Minnesota, including Concordia. The program encourages rigorous educational pursuits and provides a wider variety of options to high school students.

Concordia has a similar agreement with Oak Grove Lutheran and Park Christian high schools.

Who can apply?
Any 11th- or 12th-grade student who attends Oak Grove Lutheran High School, Park Christian High School or a Minnesota school within reasonable commuting distance and meets the requirements of their individual high school may apply for part-time admission.

How do I apply? Will I be admitted?
You and your parents should first discuss this option with your high school guidance counselor and then fill out an application for admission. Include two references (one from your guidance counselor), a copy of your most current high school transcript, and the Minnesota Access Application form which is a supplement for PSEO applicants if you are a Minnesota resident. An ACT or SAT score is not required for admission but will be needed in future semesters to determine scholarship eligibility. Since Concordia is a selective college, you must meet all admission standards to be accepted.

Acceptance into the PSEO program at Concordia is competitive. Your acceptance will be based on your academic progress, references and available space. Preference is given to first-year students before considering PSEO students.

What are the costs?
For Minnesota residents from all schools, the state of Minnesota and Concordia College cover your costs, including your books. Park Christian students who are North Dakota residents are billed a $100 tuition fee. North Dakota residents who attend either Oak Grove or Park Christian are responsible for covering the cost of books and supplies. All students participating in the program pay for any consumable resources, such as art supplies.

How many classes can I take?
If you are accepted as a part-time student, you are eligible to take up to eight credits per semester (dependent upon approval from your high school). Full-time enrollment is not available for students within a reasonable commuting distance. Due to state guidelines, PSEO students are unable to take religion, physical education or courses that include an additional fee (i.e., ceramics). Part-time students are not able to participate in music ensembles or athletic teams. PSEO students should consider only 100- or 200-level courses. A current listing of all courses is available online on the Registrar’s Office page. Careful planning is a must because some of your high school classes may conflict with the college course(s) you want to take. You will work with your guidance counselor and Concordia’s Registar’s Office to determine which classes work best with your schedule.

When do I register for classes?
Each part-time student will work with Admissions and the Registrar’s Office on an individual basis prior to the start of each academic semester. Registration for high school students occurs after the current Concordia students have selected their courses. For fall semester registration, you will be contacted by the Admissions Office in early July to schedule an appointment.
