Music Scholars
Thank you for your submission!
To be ready for your audition, bring a prepared piece to perform. This can be (and often is) the same piece you used for your music scholarship application. There will be a short interview portion with the music faculty during your audition.
Special Considerations:
Woodwinds: You will be asked to play two major scales and a full-range chromatic scale.
Vocalists: Bring music for your accompanist. It's very important that you be on campus Jan. 24 to rehearse with your assigned accompanist. All rehearsals will be scheduled after the concert.
Percussionists: You will perform a short solo on snare drum, timpani, and/or a mallet-keyboard instrument (i.e. marimba, vibes, etc). If you want a specific instrument, contact your admissions representative and we will do our best to accommodate.
What to Bring
In addition to what you would normally pack for a campus visit, please remember the following:
- Instrument, if applicable
- Additional copies of your music
- Dress clothes for your audition and the Thursday night banquet
- Sleeping bag and pillow, if you will be staying overnight
