Special Opportunities

A capstone experience for exercise science majors is a practicum in health fitness that is individually designed to fit your needs, and features practical experience in an everyday work setting.

Through our new Human Performance Lab, you may experience a health fitness practicum or participate in an undergraduate research opportunity supervised by a professor.

Your teacher of method classes will also be your supervisor for student teaching, thus ensuring close classroom communication and mentoring connections. Opportunities to be involved in classroom practicums may start during your second year and continue through your student teaching experience in your fourth year. A valuable practicum experience in the coaching minor is also available.

Concordia provides an exceptionally strong teaching preparation program approved by the Minnesota State Board of Teaching. Our program is designed so students can earn their teaching license in just four years. Concordia graduates are in high demand as teachers and coaches.

Your professors will also encourage you to participate in professional conferences, clinics and meetings.
