Global Engagement
Global Engagement at Concordia
Concordia College’s global impact stretches far beyond its outstanding study abroad program. World responsibility runs through two global majors, nine languages, an on-campus international community and more.Whether running a non-profit children’s organization in Haiti, teaching in Nicaragua or teaching children in China or conducting breakthrough autoimmune system research in the U.S., Concordia students leave here prepared to influence the world.
Study Abroad
A recipient of the Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization (by NAFSA), the college frequently ranks in the nation’s top 10, among all baccalaureate institutions, for number of students studying abroad. Hundreds of students experience new cultures and languages each year through programs designed for a week, month, semester and or entire year.
The campus Habitat for Humanity Chapter and Justice Journeys programs annually sends some 200 students out around the country and globe during spring semester break. Others travel abroad with our renowned music ensembles and championship caliber sports teams.
World Languages and Majors
Concordia offers instruction in nine world languages. Our newest offerings are Chinese and Italian. Our global studies and international business majors are closely tied to our language departments to help you find your place in a competitive global marketplace. Exciting internships are available all over the globe.
Diverse Community
Our students come from more than 35 different countries, speak dozens of languages and offer personal encounters with different cultures in courses and in conversations after class. The Concordia administration and international student groups also sponsor dozens of engaging cultural events throughout the year.
