Spanish and Hispanic Studies
While studying Spanish and Hispanic studies at Concordia, you’ll learn from native Spanish speakers and international travelers with diverse backgrounds and experience. Our talented faculty includes a journalist from Mexico, an accomplished legal court interpreter and a theatre actor and director. They all have outstanding Spanish language skills and a deep knowledge of the Hispanic culture. As you prepare for a career incorporating Spanish language proficiency, you’ll also have the unique chance to put your skills to the test while working at the Spanish Language Village, participating in the Spanish Club or living in a Spanish apartment building on campus. Study abroad in Spain, Mexico, Costa Rica or several other countries. At Concordia, you will discover numerous outlets for your creativity while developing the skills you need to succeed.Concordia’s Spanish and Hispanic studies department offers these majors and concentrations:
- Major in Spanish
- Spanish Education major with a teaching license, grades K-12
- World Languages Area of Specialization for Elementary Education majors, grades K-8
