Why Study Religion at Concordia?

Diverse Offerings

Many of our graduates go on to law school, education, seminary, graduate school, the Peace Corps, youth ministry and a variety of other careers. Our diverse course offerings and faculty specialties help you tailor your major to your own interests and plans. Explore different religions worldwide – including global Christianity, Islam, Biblical studies, faith and leadership, ethics, Catholicism, religion and culture, and even religion and film. It's all possible at Concordia.

Thanks to our liberal arts emphasis, you'll also have the opportunity to take complementary courses, including Hebrew, history, philosophy, languages, sociology, classical studies, English and psychology. Pair you religion major with a second major and further increase your opportunities.

Preparing for Seminary

In recent years, Concordia has prepared more candidates for ELCA-rostered ministry than any other college or university in the country. Thanks to our strong liberal arts education and our one-on-one preseminary advisory work, students leave Concordia with the tools they need to prepare themselves for a life in ministry.

Here you'll find the careful guidance from faculty and the advisement you need to prepare for seminary and eventually a career in ministry, youth ministry, graduate studies in religion, military chaplaincy, parish education or more.
