Premed

If med school is in your future plans, Concordia’s top-notch premed program is just the thing to get you there. In the past 10 years surveyed, Concordia students have achieved an 88 percent acceptance rate into medical school. They’re going on to become specialists in cardiology, radiology, pediatrics, orthopedics, family medicine, internal medicine and surgery.

Our grads attend medical schools at major universities across the country, including:
  • The University of Minnesota
  • Creighton University
  • The University of Washington
  • The University of North Dakota
As a student in Concordia’s premed program you’ll have opportunities for one-on-one faculty-student research, hands-on cooperative education experiences at health care facilities and even the chance to take an anatomy class complete with human cadavers. While Concordia students accepted by medical schools have come from a variety of majors, most medical schools require that you take courses in biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics and the behavioral sciences.

Premedical students work closely with the Health Professions Advisory Council, a small group of faculty that will help you discover more about health professions, prepare for the MCAT, and put together a successful application to get into medical school.
