Health Professions
Do you want to prepare for a career as a doctor, dentist or occupational therapist? Concordia College has the perfect program for you with small class sizes and professors who have practiced professionally in a number of health professions. Concordia offers preprofessional programs that are infused with a liberal arts core curriculum which will provide you with a well-rounded education. With an 88 percent acceptance rate into medical school (in the past 10 years surveyed), a Concordia education will prepare you for success.
Most students major in biology or chemistry—both programs offer honors majors—but any major is possible. We also offer a unique Health Professions Advisory Council made up of four professors who work with you all four years to complete the committee evaluation for your professional school applications. Mentor with health professionals, dissect a human cadaver and travel abroad in places such as Kenya, Tanzania and the Galapagos Islands with a major in the health professions.

All the preprofessional health programs have similar basic requirements; therefore, you’ll have the opportunity to explore multiple career options before making a final decision. Common prerequisite courses for professional programs in the health sciences include:
- 2.0 course credits in biology
- 4.0 course credits in chemistry
- 1.0 or 2.0 course credits in mathematics
- 2.0 course credits in physics
