BiographyKenneth W. Foster

Ken Foster

Ken Foster specializes in the field of comparative politics. His particular areas of expertise are Chinese and East Asian politics, environmental politics, socioeconomic development, democracy, and the politics of non-governmental organizations. He is also particularly interested in bringing the tools and insights of political science to the challenge of advancing solutions to major global problems. Dr. Foster brings an interdisciplinary perspective to the study of politics and global issues, believing that communication and collaboration across the traditional academic disciplines is essential if we as individuals and as part of the global community are to thrive in the extraordinarily complex world in which we live.

Dr. Foster came to Concordia College in 2007 after several years as an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He was drawn to Concordia by the college's emphasis on providing an outstanding liberal arts education for undergraduates and by the college's commitment to international and global education.
