Philosophy

At Concordia College, you will have the opportunity to experience many different facets of philosophy, including ethics, theory of knowledge, logic, metaphysics (the study of what exists), and history of philosophy, from the Ancient, Medieval, Modern and Contemporary periods. You will significantly improve your skills in critical reasoning, artful writing, careful reading, and philosophical research. These skills are beneficial in pursuing a lifetime of learning. Whether your interests include business, medicine, education, law, ministry, or graduate work in philosophy; whether you want to take one course or earn a major or minor; our department will encourage you in your work and in your personal intellectual development. We will help you become more engaged with the ideas, people, and traditions of our community and the world.
