Why Study Nursing at Concordia?
In Concordia’s nursing department, you’ll have many unique opportunities to enhance your study: The 30-plus healthcare facilities in the region are ideal sites for internships and clinical experiences, the technology in our nursing lab is equipped with OB and cardiac simulation manikins, and our nursing professors have extensive backgrounds in various specialties of nursing. Our nursing program also puts special emphasis on vocation. Professors understand nursing is about using your knowledge and skills while serving a calling to help others. The department sponsors an annual retreat to the Concordia Language Villages in Bemidji, Minn., that focuses on the integration of your chosen profession of nursing.
Concordia’s nursing program is specially designed to allow students the opportunity to be involved with other activities outside of the classroom. Nursing majors are active in many organizations, from our outstanding music programs and numerous athletics teams to our award-winning publications and various student organizations. Many nursing students are involved in the Student Nursing Association(SNA), Concordia Health Professions Interest Club and Sigma Theta Tau, the international nursing honor society. See Special Opportunities for more information about these organizations.
