Programs

Concordia offers two nursing programs:

• Major in nursing leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree
  
  Enrollment in Concordia’s professional major in nursing program is limited, in accordance with state regulations for low student-faculty ratios. Students must apply to be accepted into the program, usually at the end of their freshman year. Admission is based on GPA (minimum cumulative GPA of 2.9 required), completion of prerequisite courses, eligibility for sophomore standing, personal references, an impromptu essay or personal interview and submission of the completed application materials.
• Accelerated nursing program leading to a second major in nursing
  
  This accelerated program is an 18-month course leading to a major in nursing for students who have already completed a baccalaureate degree. Upon completion of the program, the graduate is eligible to take the nursing board examination and become a licensed registered nurse (RN).
  
  To be accepted into the accelerated program, students must apply to the college by Feb. 15 before the start of the program in May. Admission is competitive and is based on GPA (minimum cumulative GPA of 2.9 required), baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution, completion of pre-requisite courses (two semesters of chemistry, microbiology, anatomy and physiology, general psychology, general sociology and developmental psychology) submission of the completed application materials, personal references and an impromptu essay.
