Library Launch

The Library Launch is a librarian-led introduction to the library. All Inquiry Seminar sections attend this participatory session early in the fall semester. If you are teaching an Inquiry Seminar, contact your library liaison early to schedule the Library Launch for your students.

Upon completing a Library Launch, first-year students will:

  • recognize and be able to articulate an information need connected to their Inquiry Seminar course content
  • identify certain introductory library research tools in order to increase their familiarity with a topic
  • recognize a variety of information types and formats
  • begin to measure the value of different information source types
  • use the library's "Find It" (SFX link resolver) to effectively access periodical holdings
