Why Study History at Concordia?
With an emphasis on the global, Concordia’s history department focuses not only on the U.S. and European history (as do many other schools), but on a broad range of offerings including everything from Latin America and Indians of North America to modern East Asian, African, Russian, Scandinavian and Black American history. While studying history at Concordia, you’ll find yourself encouraged to consider a global perspective by experienced faculty who have all led study abroad experiences.History students receive individual attention and direction that recent alumni name as a key in their successful employment in business, government, public relations, marketing, and many more careers. As one of the recommended majors for law school and seminary, a history degree is outstanding preparation for graduate school. Whether you are heading for graduate school or not, the Cooperative Education program will help you become marketable for jobs upon graduation and help coordinate valuable internship experiences at local businesses while earning academic credit, employment experience and sharing your love of history.
