A major in Global Studies will give you the ability to think globally while understanding the global-local connections that are so critical in today's world. It also provides you with the ability to navigate cultural diversity while analyzing how to contribute to solving global problems.

The Association of American Colleges and Universities has identified a set of Essential Learning Outcomes that students need to achieve in order to be prepared to succeed in meaningful careers. The Global Studies Program is designed with these outcomes in mind: the program engages students with big and important questions, it fosters the development of intellectual and practical skills, it links academic study to questions of personal responsibility, it focuses on addressing real-world problems, and it enables students to synthesize diverse forms of knowledge.
