Here, your passion for French doesn’t have to remain in the classroom. Use your love of language to impact multiple areas of your life, including where you live, where you travel and even where you work!

Get Involved
If you’re interested in expanding your knowledge of the Francophone culture and meeting other people passionate about sharing the language, join our active French Club. Take some time to tutor elementary kids after school or even join our French Honor Society. Spend some quality time with other students and faculty in the department hall Friday mornings where students create a French café, complete with food, conversation and, occasionally, even a little karaoke.

Study Abroad
As a student in the French program, you will have the opportunity to travel abroad with expert faculty on one of our award-winning global education programs. Whether you are overseas for a week or a month expanding your worldview, Concordia has an Exploration Seminar or May Seminar that will challenge and develop your language skills.

Experience the Culture At Home
Immersing yourself in the French culture doesn’t only happen overseas. Spend a summer working as a language counselor at Lac du Bois, the French Language Village, where you’ll fine tune your own speaking skills as you share the French culture with young people through music, activities, dance and amazing cuisine.

Pathway to Success
Often times, our students choose to pair their French major with international business, communication, English, economics or global studies, leading to a variety of opportunities with our cooperative education  office.
