Capacity Crowd Takes in Nobel Peace Prize Forum
Concordia College hosted the 20th Annual Nobel Peace Prize Forum, “Striving for Peace: Investing in Community,” honoring the innovative work of Muhammad Yunus, founder of the Grameen Bank which provide low-cost loans to poor people.
Memorial Auditorium was at capacity with people in overflow seating for the opening plenary session with author and peace activist Greg Mortenson. His session was followed by a satellite interview with Jeffrey Sachs. Yunus, who shared the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize with the Grameen Bank, delivered the keynote address at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum on Saturday. His message was followed by an interfaith worship service and a panel discussion.
