Medieval literature and culture, Chaucer, Shakespeare, Arthurian legends, Fantasy literature, Linguistics, Folklore, Science Fiction, Grammar and Editing
Scholarly Activities:
Dr. Sprunger has a long-standing interest in Chaucer, Chaucer's reputation, Chaucer portraits, and imitations of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. In addition, he enjoys editing the work of others. Recent editing projects include Concordia's HLC report, an anthology of North Dakota folklore, and two issues of SMART (Studies in Medieval and Renaissance Studies).
He has received Concordia's Flaat Distinguished Teaching award and is the current holder of the Walther G. Prausnitz Endowed Chair in English.
