Pedagogy and Professional Development Support for Teaching Effectiveness

The College supports the following faculty development programs:

  • Assessment Mini-grants

Up to $1000 per program, including faculty stipends of $50 per day, is available to support the development and implementation of assessment plans at the department/program level.  The goal of these plans is to assess student learning outcomes in meaningful ways.  Contact Elaine Ackerman, director of academic assessment (x4723), for details.

  • Assessment Consultant

Elaine Ackerman, director of academic assessment (x4723), supports faculty assessment activities and assists in the development and implementation of assessment plans.

  • Service Learning Coordinator

Chelle Lyons Hanson, director of Leadership and Service and Assistant to the Dean of Student Development, (x3640) can advise faculty on all aspects of service learning as a pedagogy, including syllabi, community partnerships and assessment of student learning.

Faculty-student research partnerships investigate innovative pedagogical techniques in specific courses.  This program offering is subject to the availability funds.
