Credo Honors Program

Credo (pronounced “CRAY-doh”) is an academic honors program for high-ability, highly motivated students who accept the challenge of actively exploring the ideas that have shaped western civilization.

As a Credo student, you will participate in stimulating discussions and develop intellectual and social relationships as you challenge yourself and your classmates in this rigorous interdisciplinary program.

During the first three years at Concordia, Credo students take five specially designed courses in natural sciences and mathematics, social sciences, humanities and fine arts. These courses, open only to Credo students, are frequently team taught by outstanding faculty who bring distinctive approaches and perspectives to the subjects. Credo course topics are not usually covered in other courses at Concordia and typically several courses are offered each semester.

During the fourth year, you will be required to complete a capstone project that is typically the seminar course in your major.

The Credo Honors Program also includes an optional semester abroad. Students begin the semester on campus, preparing to study abroad. Accompanied by two Concordia faculty, students and faculty live and study in meaningful and relevant locations chosen for their cultural diversity and educational value. The faculty team-teach the courses, which vary each year.
