Classical Studies Alumni

Concordia is one of only two institutions in Minnesota that certifies Latin teachers. Graduates of our Latin Education program have a high placement rate in schools around the country. Our alumni have also gone on to graduate studies in classics.

A major in classical studies is the perfect foundation for many professional careers. According to the Princeton Review, students who “major or double-major in Classics have a better success rate getting into medical school than do students who concentrate solely” in the sciences, and (along with math majors) have “the highest success rates of any majors in law school.”

Our graduates are found in myriad professions, from health care administration to the Peace Corps. They have gone on to become doctors, nurses, teachers, lawyers and dieticians. Others have pursued their Ph.D.s in such fields as entomology, biology, and art history.

Regardless of your desired profession, employers seek people who can communicate clearly and solve problems objectively while thinking critically.
