With a cutting-edge laser facility for spectroscopy research, a dynamic summer research program and a tight-knit team of faculty, Concordia’s chemistry department attracts top students who go on to careers in medicine, neuroscience, pharmacy, forensic science and more. The chemistry department features both a standard chemistry major and a more rigorous American Chemical Society (ACS)-certified major recommended for those preparing for graduate school or a career in industry. You may graduate with chemistry honors, which includes active participation in an original research project. The department also offers a chemistry minor, as well as a new interdisciplinary minor in neuroscience.
The Chemistry Department at Concordia College is approved by the ACS, indicating that the department has the facilities, faculty and curriculum to provide undergraduate education in chemistry according to guidelines established by the ACS.
