Communication Studies and Theatre Art

Concordia’s communication studies and theatre art department – we call it CSTA for short – is one of the largest departments on campus and the winner of the prestigious National Communication Association Program of Excellence Award.

Here you’ll find a unique blend of communication, media and theatre, all nested in a liberal arts curriculum, taught by faculty members who are also accomplished professionals in their fields. Present your research at a national communication conference with a frequently published professor, perform in a Concordia Theatre production, study with a past president of the Communication and Theater Association of Minnesota or undertake a video project with an award-winning videographer. You’ll find just what you need to prepare you for a career or graduate school.

Concordia’s CSTA department offers these seven majors:
•    Communication
•    Communication with a mass media concentration
•    Communication with an organization communication concentration
•    Communication with a public relations concentration
•    Communication and theatre art
•    Theatre art
•    Speech communication teaching license
