Honor Society

Crest

Beta Beta Beta is a national Honors Society particularly for undergraduate biology students. It is dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending the boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research.

Concordia’s chapter of Beta Beta Beta, Omega Nu, was formed in 1988 and since that time more than 480 students have joined. The requirements for full membership include having completed three biology courses and maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or better. To be considered as a full member you must tell the Registrar’s Office that you are a biology major or minor, because the list of potential members is generated by that office.

Key

Invitations for new members typically go out in the fall semester. The cost for full membership is $45, which includes a lifetime membership to the organization and a two-year subscription to the journal Bios. There is an additional $2 fee if you want home-delivery of the journal. It is otherwise distributed by the biology department via campus mail.

Associate membership is open to anyone interested in biology. The cost is $35, which can be applied toward the full membership fee if you later decide to do that.
