“Vaccine Formulation To Optimize Anti-parasite Vaccine-induced Immunity.”

This project builds upon studies conducted in the Fall 2012, demonstrating the ability of a novel anti-hookworm vaccine to induce an approximately 90% reduction of parasite burdens in a murine hookworm model.  The objective of this study is to formulate this same vaccine with FDA-approved conjugates and adjuvants to determine if this formulation retains the same level of efficacy as the original vaccine.  The research will also involve assay development and serological studies in the analysis of the generated response.
