Presidential Search Committee
Update: Feb. 7, 2011
I am pleased to report that the search continues to go well. Thank you to those of you who nominated individuals for consideration. More than half of those who were nominated followed up with applications. The applicant pool reflects a broad diversity of experience and includes men and women from inside and outside Lutheran higher education. The applicants include presidents, academic deans and provosts, as well as nontraditional candidates. January has been, and February will continue to be, a time for greater scrutiny of the quality of individual applicants. The Search Committee is currently engaged in an initial round of interviews. We are where we wanted and need to be – next steps and timing will be determined by the committee based on the outcomes of the interviews. If we believe we have a future president of Concordia College in that group, then the next step becomes narrowing further the list to the candidate or candidates that we would bring to campus for a final interview. If we’re not certain that we have a future president of Concordia in the group, then we need to continue to search higher and wider.
The committee continues to welcome nominations and applications until the search is complete. We welcome your input as we proceed and ask for your continued prayers.
