Presidential Search
Update: Jan. 3, 2011
I want to extend special thanks on behalf of the members of the Presidential Search Committee for your response to the committee’s request for nominations of potential candidates for president of Concordia College. We deeply appreciate your support and partnership in this important endeavor.I am pleased to report that the search is going well. The Search Committee began its work on Sept. 22-24 when it met to develop a statement of leadership and select counsel. Dr. David Gring of Myers McRae is serving as counsel to the committee and working with us to find the right person to lead this outstanding liberal arts college of the church. According to Dr. Gring, Concordia enjoys an excellent reputation in the national arena of private higher education. This is affirmed in the strong pool of nominees and applicants that reflects diversity and depth in experience and in geography.
In September, the Search Committee met with constituent groups of local alumni, faculty, staff, and students, to gather input regarding the qualifications and qualities of the president and to clarify the search process. I have had the opportunity to personally update the alumni board, faculty, staff and former faculty and staff during the fall semester. I intend to continue to do so during spring semester.
The Search Committee has begun the ongoing process of review and evaluation of applicants. Over 30 applications have been received to date. January and February will mark a time for greater scrutiny of the quality of individual applicants. This process will continue to be a fluid one with the flexibility to change in order to optimize our success in securing the right person to lead Concordia. We will continue to welcome nominations and applications until the search is complete. Updates will be posted on this site throughout the search process.
We welcome your input as we proceed and ask for your continued prayers.
