Justice Journeys 2007

Washington Monument

Service and faith are often intertwined at Concordia. In fact, 37 Concordia students chose to spend their spring breaks on three Justice Journeys trips across the continent. They spent their time learning of the issues that affect the poor and homeless, and explored the strength of their faith.

Other trips include Spanishtown, Jamaica, and the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. Students stayed at the Sunbeam Children’s Home for boys to understand the causes and effects of poverty in Jamaica, and they spent time with the children. In Mexico, the students helped build the foundation and walls of a new church and explored causes of poverty and hunger. In D.C. they not only learned of the causes of homelessness and poverty, but also learned of legislation aiding in relief as well as other organizations that aid in relief.
