Position: The Department of Business, Accounting and Economics, Concordia College, invites applicants for a full-time, tenure eligible position beginning August 2008. A Finance track is available in the Economics major. The normal teaching load is 3 courses per semester (a combination of Principles and upper-division electives each semester). Department of Communication Studies and Theatre Art
Position: Full time, fixed term position, up to three-year appointment with possibility for renewal up to six years. Master's degree completed by August 1, 2008 required for appointment. Position can be converted to a tenure eligible appointment for candidates who are ABD (Ph.D. preferred).
Responsibilities: Normal teaching load is three courses (the equivalent of twelve semester hours) per semester. Coaching duties compensated with reassigned time. Summer school teaching is possible for additional compensation. Advisement of undergraduate majors, participation in departmental projects and involvement in college-wide activities is required.
Candidates should be prepared to teach the college-wide required introductory oral communication course; other basic course offerings in the department; and to coach and travel in a joint speech and debate program. Preference is for candidates with demonstrated sympathy for a unified debate and individual events program. Candidates should demonstrate sympathy for a unified debate and I.E. program.
Forensics responsibilities: Planning and organizing practices, coaching students, and traveling to tournaments. A candidate with doctoral course work completed could be appointed as Director ofI individual Events and take a leadership role in directing the individual events component of the Concordia forensics program. Additional duties would include participation in setting program goals, planning the travel schedule and recruiting students.

2. Demonstrated preparation and experience in teaching public speaking and small group communication.
3. Demonstrated ability to coach within the context of an integrated speech and debate program.
4. Demonstrated preparation and experience in teaching an area of specialization appropriate to the departmental curriculum.

Position: Our intention is to hire an excellent classroom teacher who is also a skilled theatrical director. Full time fixed-term one year appointment. Position begins August, 2008. Directing and other co-curricular duties related to theatre will be compensated with reassigned time. Participation in department projects and involvement in college-wide activities is required. Candidates should be prepared to direct at least one main-stage production and work with other aspects of the theatre program as assigned.
We are seeking someone who can teach a variety of courses in the theatre curriculum, such as beginning and/or intermediate acting, beginning and/or advanced directing, oral interpretation, and contemporary drama. Being able to teach other courses in the theatre or communication curriculum would be a plus.
The CSTA department consists of 13 full-time and 6 part-time faculty. Three faculty are in theatre; two full-time faculty are primarily in media studies; the balance are in communication studies. The theatre professional staff consists of a costume designer, lighting designer and technical director. Currently, approximately 300 students are declared majors in the department with 44 majors or minors in theatre.

The Position: Instructor of French, Three-year term contract, with possibility of renewal. Teaching load will consist of courses in language acquisition and culture of the French-speaking world.
The French Department consists of three full-time positions and a French native assistant. Concordia has a two-semester language expectation as part of our Core curriculum requirement. Areas of focus include education, international business and the language and culture of the French-speaking world. The department is dedicated to providing a full range of study abroad opportunities as well as on-campus extra curricular activities. The faculty and programming benefit from a close working relationship with the Concordia Language Villages.
